Lately

So I sorta stink at coming up with things to blog about. Unless we have some sort of event with lots of pictures, I'm kinda at a loss. So basically you get what we have been up to lately.

My  in-laws bought a new to them boat recently so we have been enjoying some time on the lake nearby. The girls love it and Avery calls it her boat. I enjoy time on the lake too, but it is a lot of work with 2 little ones on a small speed boat. All the things you need to take on board and then corralling the girls so they don't take a plunge while we are riding. Avery really loved the tube and cried when we tried to make her get off.

We have been having fun summer. Like most of the US we had a heat wave a couple weeks ago and now we are having fall like temps. So weird. I would like to have a little bit more of summer before we start doing the fall thing. Speaking of fall things, we signed Lily up for soccer. I'm not quite sure she grasps the idea yet, but I think she will like it. I played soccer forever growing up so I'm excited to see her play.

Lily has been interested in using our camera lately. So she went around the house and took some pictures. It was pretty cute.
We are having a pretty good summer. Just hope the weather turns around so we can enjoy the last couple weeks of "summer".

Insta-Friday

Another couple weeks of Insta pictures. You can follow me at @jennypowellfell.

Have you guys seen this movie? You know Steve Martin's youngest son Justin, well Avery is totally that kid. He is just in his own world, and I think Avery resides their with him. She was doing this at like 6:30 in the morning. So funny and random. I love this girl.

Lily spent some time at Grammy's and this is the pic I got. Just hanging out with her babies.

The girls have been doing some painting lately. They painted on paper and then started painting themselves. While it was awfully cute, it was very messy. Nothing the little pool in the yard couldn't fix.

See what I mean ya'll. She is so funny.

Like a lot of the country we had a little bit of a heat wave last week. We watched a lot of movies and played inside. We have had cooler weather this week and have been enjoying outside.

I had ordered Lily a Tinkerbell bed tent for her birthday (which is already broken so don't bother) and this was us testing it out.

My friend Anthony sent Lily some birthday cookies and some treats for Avery.

Ave's favorite cartoon is Team Umizoomi. So I was pumped to find this Millie shirt at Old Navy a while back. She is obsessed with that show and requests it any time we watch tv.

Grammy and Pop Pop got Lily this new dancing outfit and dance lessons for her birthday. I think they start in August. She seems excited so hopefully they will be fun for her.

We had some friends in town this past weekend and went down to the river to watch the rafters come in. The kids were super cute and loved putting their toes in the water.

Then Lily filled her pockets with rocks until her pants were barely staying up. Kids are weird.

Our sweet neighbor got Lil a slip and slide for her birthday and the kids really enjoyed busting it out after most of the guests had left.

My sis took this picture and I just love it. These girls I tell ya.

So I talked a little bit about how grown up Lily has been acting the past couple of days. She has been able to put her clothes on by herself for a while but she has never been able to do buttons. Until a couple of nights ago. Big girl status. She is just amazing me lately.

See what I mean? When did she turn 13? She named that second little lizard on that lip gloss Sarah. After Aunt Sarah I presume. We then proceeded to become super heroes and our makeup gave us powers. I love her imagination.

So we are doing this.
And it's hard. She is a stubborn one but wants to use the potty so we are going with it.
Doesn't everyone potty in the kitchen?

And one more of my wild girls after dinner last night. Daddy is so fun, right?

Tangled (Rapunzel) Birthday Party

When I asked Lily what type of birthday party she wanted to have this year she was quick to respond with a "Rapunzel" party. I wasn't really surprised since she has loved this movie since the first time she watched it. Which was actually just a couple days after Avery was born. It was part of her big sister gift.

I got most of my ideas off of Pinterest. You can check out my board for ideas. I will also try to tag all the original sources I have too. This party was pretty easy to put together since there is a lot of Tangled/Rapunzel stuff in stores still.

Cake- Walmart Bakery/ Banner- Recession Home -- Etsy/ Snuggly Duckling Sign- Drawn by Nathan and painted by me / Tower - Made by Nathan--Inspiration found on google.

Rapunzel Art- Drawn by us and painted by me/ Rapunzel signs are from here.

I served braided pizza bread, fruit, veggies, chips and dip, chicken nuggets, pigs in a blanket, cheese and crackers, jello boats, taco dip and this punch

The kids swam and played with water balloons. We also had a pinata.

I think the birthday girl had a blast and that is what is most important! Thanks to everyone who came and helped out with the party!

She is Four

So Lily is four years old now. I feel like she turned four and turned into a new little girl. I don't want to jinx it or anything, but we have had a drastic change in behavior. Less whining, more being helpful and just generally sweet. I know that four will have it's own challenges and I'm not counting out the the old behavior yet, but three was hard.

On her Thursday which was her actual birthday, we woke up early so Daddy could be here for breakfast and present opening. We had cinnamon rolls with candles and she opened her gifts from us which I think she enjoyed.

Nathan did have class, but he skipped out early to spend the day with us. So when he got home we packed up and headed out for a picnic at the playground. It was super hot but we got a decent amount of play time in.

After play time we headed home so Ave could nap. The rest of us did some swimming and waited for some friends to get here who were coming to visit. When they got here the kids played a bit and then we headed to Lily's favorite place for dinner and after dinner had cake and cupcakes at my sister's house.

We had a great day. I can't believe my girl is four years old.

Next up her Tangled birthday party!
