Be Right Back

So I know I have really been slacking on the posting of things happening in our lives. We have just been chugging along and enjoying summer. I'm sure I will be back soon with some new pictures of all the fun we have been having.

As you probably already know, Google Reader is done as of tomorrow. So if you follow through the reader you will no longer receive posts from Fell Family Fun. So if you want to keep following along, you can here! That is a Bloglovin link. It is what I have found easiest for me to continue to follow blogs through. I like the easiness of the site and app.

Insta-Friday

Another week has flown by! Summer is just moving right along. I am linking up again here:

life rearranged

Just some tidbits from our week:

One rainy morning the girls dressed up in their swimming gear and "swam" in the living room. Then Lily decided that high heels were necessary too.

The girls went with Grammy to a little petting zoo in the parking lot of one of the local grocery stores. I got these super cute pictures while they were there.

We had some friends come into town last weekend. Saturday we had a cookout and Sunday we woke up and went on a hike in the Gorge. The girls did pretty good and the views and company were great.

Lily went with my Mom to vacation bible school and couple days this week. She picked out her outfit which she has been doing a lot lately. Tight and a fancy dress that used to belong to me when I was a kid.

We have had a time with this lady lately. We put the girls in the same room recently. We set up Ave's bed in Lily's room and converted it to a toddler bed. (crib with bed rail) She really wasn't going for that though and it took forever to get her to fall asleep. So we pulled out the twin trundle bed from under Lily's and that is now her new bed. I think Nathan may build a bed frame and we will get a new mattress so we can still have the extra trundle bed when we need it. This picture is a day when she did just about everything but nap until she got tired enough to pass out.

While sissy was at bible school, I got to spend some quality time with this little cheeser. We had a leisurely bath time then cuddled on the couch until bed time. I love this sweet girl.

Even though we have been having quite a bit of rain, we have had a couple days that we were able to enjoy dinner outside.

and then inside for a lunch picnic where they were so sweet with each other. Avery is totally Lily's little shadow and loves doing everything sis does.

My Mom stops by occasionally on weekdays when she is out in the field for work. She usually can't stay very long but the girls really like it. This day Lily got her covers off her bed and made a place for her and Nana to nap.

And on Thursday I drove the girls down to Charleston to meet Nathan after class. We had a yummy lunch at Panera and a fun trip to Chuck E Cheese. The girls loved it. Avery ran around to every "ride" and asked for monies. But once they started going she wouldn't ride the whole time. I think she just liked the thrill of putting the money in the little slot. Oh no.........

BBQ Chili Pasta

If you are looking for yummy summer pasta dish I have one for you! I found this recipe online a couple years ago. I just have the paper copy I wrote down, so I have no idea who to credit for this recipe. If this is yours, please let me know!

BBQ Chili Pasta

Ingredients:

1 (8oz.) Package of rotini pasta (I used macaroni since that was what I had on hand)
1 tbl. olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
8 ounces ground turkey (I usually just use the whole package)
1 8 ounce can of tomato sauce
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 15oz. can of corn (you could also use frozen)
1 tbl. chili powder
1 tbl. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup barbecue sauce

1. In a large pot cook pasta to al dente, drain.

2. In a large non-stick skillet heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and bell pepper and cook until softened. Add ground turkey and cook through. Stir in chili powder, dried oregano, salt, corn, tomato sauce and BBQ sauce. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and let simmer until slightly thickened, about 3 to 4 minutes.

3. In a large serving bowl, combine turkey mixture with pasta and serve immediately.

This is a perfect weekday meal or addition to any cook out.

Glasses USA (Sponsored Post)

Luckily, I have never needed glasses or contacts. But so many people wear them including close family members. I went with my Mom a couple months ago to her eye doctor appointment. She had to order new frames and lenses and there just really wasn't much to choose from and they were so pricey! I'm talking like $300 pricey. I wish I would have known about GlassesUSA.com then. I would have totally sent her to this website to buy glasses

The pair of  glasses below were the first ones that caught my eye. I love the tortoise shell. I could totally see myself wearing these. They offer lots of designer glasses. So many cool brands. They even offer name brand prescription sunglasses like Ray Ban and Spy.

They also have this cool feature where you can upload your picture and try the different frames on your face. Pretty sweet.

A few other cool things:

They offer a 100% money back guarantee if you decide you don't like the eyeglasses you ordered.
And a cool refer a friend program.

You can follow along with their social media: Twitter and Facebook

Glasses USA is offering my readers 10% off. Use the code Blog10 for all eyeglasses online purchases.

Insta-Friday

Being able to capture pictures on my phone is so awesome. It is right at my finger tips most of the time. Instagram is my number one social media choice right now. I love how you can post to Facebook and Twitter.

life rearranged

I love this girl and her ability to turn on  her cheese face at any moment. She totally likes taking pictures right now and I am a-okay with that.

This one is so big. I can't get over her big girl status. It is only gonna get worse!

Our first week of summer break was a success. Park trips and ice cream are super fun for little girls, right?

We  also walked down to our local rail trail expo and the girls hitched a ride in their wagon. They have the life. It was super duper hot this day but it was nothing a little lemonade couldn't fix.

The pool doesn't hurt either.

So it is only the beginning of June and Miss Avery Grace is already sporting a tan. Granted anyone has a tan against my sis's paleness. It is crazy how Lily is fair skinned and Avery has darker skin like me.

I enjoyed a mini blizzard a couple days ago as a Mommy reward. Yum.

There is nothing I love more than these three.

I am really enjoying summer break and not having to be on a schedule and be anywhere at a certain time. We have been enjoying watching cartoons in the morning in bed, playing outside and staying up past our bedtime.

I planted some pretty succulents this week. Hopefully I can keep them alive. I don't have the greenest thumb.

Ya'll I am trying really hard to get back into the exercise thing. I joined Gym Pact and completed my workouts for this week. Hopefully I can keep it up. I have been riding my bike mostly but have done some running.

Just my little pirate rocking her eye patch like a champ.

Pintastic

So I haven't done one of these posts in a while. I have still been pinning away. I actually do use Pinterest to get ideas for recipes, projects, and crafts. These are just a couple of pins that have caught my eye lately.

This outdoor area for kids is so awesome. I feel like our yard just looks like a daycare with all the toys strewn about. I would love to do something this fun in our yard.

This looks so yummy for a summer picnic or by the pool.

This are skinny chocolate chip scones. Yummmmmmm

Way down the road when Nathan graduates, I want this beautiful kitchen nook!

These are super cute. I wonder if I can make them?

What have you been pinning lately. You can follow my boards here

It's Okay Tuesday

Today It's Okay...........

- That I let the girls eat a cookie for breakfast yesterday. It's summer break!

- That summer days make the girls super tired.

- That I wanna get rid of over half of the girls toys. They literally play with a third of what they have. I may try to do a huge purge soon. Lily acts like she is dying though if I try to give away a cheapo kids meal toy. This should be fun.

- To think my kids are the cutest. : )

Preschool~~Last Day 2013

Lily had her last day of Preschool last week. She will be going back to the same school next year so it's not technically her last day but it was still pretty emotional for me. She has grown so much over the past year. I mean look at the first day and last day pictures. She looks like such a baby in that first picture. Now she is a tall almost 4 year old.

Little sister had to get in on the action too.

We got her teachers Lily's to plant in their yards. That way they could always think about Lily when they came back ever spring.

She has learned so much and really come out of her shell socially. That was my biggest goal when we enrolled her in school in the fall. Both my girls are shy and Lil hadn't really been around many kids her age.

In the evening on Thursday, they had their end of the year program. Gosh, it was so adorable. I don't have a ton of pictures because I videoed the program. The kids were so very cute.  But this is what Avery was doing for most of the show.

Then she moved on to laying in the aisle of the sanctuary. She was being quiet and watching though so I let her be. Each child said a little nursery rhyme or sang a song. Lily needed a little help reciting Jack and Jill but she did it. After just about every kid, Avery yelled out "my turn". I don't think she will have an issue with shyness when it's her turn to preform.

And a pretty decent picture of our little family. I sure do love them.
