Washi Tape Ornament

First off, I made a blog button! ------------------------------->

I followed the tutorial from here which was super easy. I really have no clue about this kind of stuff so if I can do it, anyone can.

So when we were getting out the Christmas Ornaments, I found this white ceramic 'A' I bought after Christmas last year. I'm pretty sure I got it at Hobby Lobby. We already had all the other family members letters as ornaments so Avery had to have one too.

It was kinda plain though so I decided to decorate it with some washi tape. I have seen washi tape all over the internet on blogs etc. but didn't have any and hadn't seen it at the craft store. I finally scored some at Target. I went with the packs of greens and reds since I figured I could do a lot with it around Christmas.

I really like the way it turned out and it took about 2 minutes to make. I want to use washi tape on everything now.

I will hopefully be showing all our Christmas decorations soon. I just have to clean up the rest of the house. Before I can take pictures. : )

DIY-Fall Decor

So, forever ago when I first signed up for Pinterest, this was one of the first things I Pinned. It got repinned a ton but I never did anything with it, like most pinned items. Ha

Fun alternative to a wreath!

Well I found myself at The Dollar Tree and they had bags of faux leaves for $1. I picked up a couple and already had the letter that I purchased at Hobby Lobby. I think it was around $3.

So I basically just hot glued leaves all over, and came up with this. Lily even helped.

I have it displayed on our mantle with some other fall decor. This was super easy!

This picture is my sis and I dressed up as Strawberry Shortcake and Raggedy Ann circa 198?

The owls are from TJ Maxx and the mason jar has pumpkins, goards and fake moss from the dollar store.

Mountaineer Love

This past weekend, we got together at my sisters house to watch the Mountaineers play! We are huge fans and alums so there is no doubt we will don our blue and gold and cheer on the Mounties whenever they are playing.

We had a nice spread of food and good company. The girls were wild and Lily got to play with her little friend Shelby.

And swing on the hammock with Uncle Mike!

I also spent a little time crafting and made this wreath for our porch. I'm loving it and it was fairly easy to make.

The rest of the weekend was spend recovering and relaxing which is just what we needed!

Let's Goooooooo Mountaineers.

Linking up here today:

Do It Yourself Yarn Wreath

These have been popping up all over Pinterest and that is where I got the idea. It was really easy once
 I got the supplies.

What you need:
Styrofoam Wreath-Hobby Lobby $4.99
Yarn- Hobby Lobby $2.99
Felt Flowers-Hobby Lobby $3.99

So I basically just started wrapping the yarn until I covered the whole thing. I just tied it on to start. After it was completely wrapped I chose where I wanted to place the flowers. I'm sure you make your own but these were in the Valentine's section at Hobby Lobby. I used a hot glue gun to attach the flowers.

Then I just used some ribbon I already had to make a hanger. Just hot glue the ends together.

This is the final product and I love it.

Pinterest Picture Project

So in attempt to add some color and get some more family pictures hung in our house I made these .  I found the inspiration where else, but Pinterest. The link didn't really give instructions on how to make these, but I found it pretty easy.

I just bought the wood plaques at Hobby Lobby. You could probably sand them, but I didn't and they have a couple rough edges. But that doesn't bother me. I painted them with paint I already had.

I then chose some of my favorite pictures I have been wanting to frame. You basically just apply a little mod podge to get the picture to stick to the wood. Then cover the whole front with the mod podge. I also put it around the edges because it dries shiny and I like that look. I still need to add a hanger to the back. I have seen pop tabs used and that would be super easy.

It goes on white, like glue but dries clear.

Little lady got in on the action, she loves to paint stuff.

I plan to hang them in our living room and will post a pic when I get them hung up.

I must add a congrats to my West Virginia Mountaineers who beat Clemson 70-33 in the Orange Bowl

I am a super proud fan and loved watching that awesome game!
