Avery's Disney Party

This past weekend we had Avery's birthday party. My recent trip to Disneyland really inspired me with our theme. Lily had a Minnie Mouse party for her second birthday so I was able to dig out some of the decorations from that party and reuse them, but I did make quite a few things just for this party. I really didn't want it to be centered on one Disney character so it was a mix of a bunch of different Disney stuff. 

I found a lot of ideas on Pinterest, including the character letters below. 

They were pretty easy to make. I bought the cardboard letters at Hobby Lobby and printed the bows and Donald's hat from here. 

I got the ideas for the mason jars from Etsy. I just used glitter paint on the insides and found some images online to add to a couple. I really like how they turned out. 

The large Mickey picture is actually a puzzle that a friend gave us a while ago, and the Minnie decorations are leftover from Lily's party. 

I bought the pennants for the banner at Hobby Lobby and spray painted them. I found the Disneyland font for free online and added the different character cut outs with mod podge. 

I think her party turned out great! 

Lily has decided she wants a Tangled/Rapunzel party so the planning starts now for that!

She really likes the basketball hoop. I had to order the pink from Toys r us. 

Grammy and Pop Pop got her a playhouse. She really loves it.

Avery Grace~~2 Years

She has gone from This.........

To This...........

in 2 short years. I can hardly believe how fast time has flown by. I feel like time has gone by even faster with my second girl. 

Miss Avery is ready for 2. She so wants to catch up with her big sissy. 

This girl is sweet, loving, funny and sassy. She has a temper and can be stubborn, but can change her mood in a second. She knows how to turn it on and off. Ave loves icicles (popsicles), mac and cheese, yogurt, fruit and chocolate milk. She still naps once a day for 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon. She wears size 24 months, 2T and a couple 18 month things and a size 5 diaper. She likes to sit on her potty seat and has been pretty successful. Hopefully we will be able to really start potty training in the next couple of months. She says tons of words/sentences and repeats everything. I love her deep little voice. She adores her sister and wants to do everything she does. There have been a couple of small disagreements between the two, but they are soon forgotten. She likes to watch cartoons, loves her buddy (blanket) and her binky. 

We have a fun Disney inspired party planned for Saturday. 

She is my favorite 2 year old and I am so lucky to be her Momma! Happy Birthday sweet girl!

Toddler Gymnastics

Avery has been doing a Parent/Child gymnastics class over the past couple of months. She really loves it, and I love having something that we do together. The class has music and dancing and she gets to run around like a crazy lady which is right up her alley. 

She has perfected her front roll but won't always do it at class. 

I think we will sign Lily up for a class this summer so she has an activity while school is out.

Avery-18 Months

Avery Grace is 18 Months! 

Half a year has gone by since she became a toddler. She is such a blessing and a sweet girl. 

Avery has started repeating everything.

She loves her binky and her buddy (blanket)

Her eating has definitely gone down hill a bit. She will still eat lots of different things but the quantity has declined. She screams DONE when she is finished too. 

I was able to get her to eat toast and cheese bread. She wouldn't touch bread for a while. 

She takes one mid day nap and still goes to bed around 7 pm

She wears 12-18 month clothes and can wear some 24 months.

No idea on height and weight but she has an appointment in November. 

She loves the dog and "hugs" her a lot. 

She is still into everything and thinks she can do the same things as big sissy.

She gets sad when we drop Lily off at school in the morning. 

She drinks regular milk now instead of soy. 

She says bite,bite, bite when she wants some of your food. 

She is a climber and likes to scare the crap out of me. 

She runs and plays like a big girl. I am sad that time is passing so fast and the girls are getting so big, but it is also awesome to experience all these new things with them. 

Fishies on the Floor

So this girl is wild. Like outta control, climbing on anything, stumbling around like a little drunk, wild. So this is one of many pictures that I have of her eating things off the floor. She dumps them out and then enjoys her snack. I guess whatever works, right? 

Except I know my floors are not clean enough to be doing this off of.....

I guess she needs to build up her immune system right?

I love this wild woman of mine!

Avery 16 Months

I don't even know now what she was so upset about, but goodness gracious this kid knows how to throw a tantrum. She must have picked it up from a certain big sister I know. She can turn it on and off really fast too. Such a sneaky little lady. Those pouty lips make me smile though.

She is mostly the sweetest girl around

She's attached to her Momma but,

is a total Daddy's girl too.

She loves her sissy and her Dixie doggy.

She calls every stuffed animal, regular animal, and her blankie her "baby"

She knows where her nose, mouth and belly button are.

She loves soy milk, apple sauce pouches, cheese, jelly beans and yougurt.

When you are eating something she reaches out and says "bite" (she ate salad the other day)

She loves to dance and climb and be generally crazy.

She loves to give Dixie her treats. She goes to where we keep them and says eh, eh, eh until you give her one.

Wagon rides are her favorite

Weighs: 23 pounds

Height: 32 Inches

Avery-9 Months

Our girl turned 9 months on the 26th. It is so hard to believe that she has been with us as long as she was in my belly.

Age 9 Months

Weight 20.2 pounds (75th percentile)

Length 29 inches (92nd percentile) maybe she has a chance at being tall?

Clothing size 6-12 month, 9 month sizes. She can wear 12 months but they are a little big. Size 3 diaper

Hair  Lots and it is so pretty!


Teeth 2 on the bottom. Drooling and chewing on stuff like crazy. She has to be getting more soon.


Sleeping She wakes up once or twice a night still. She has improved as we have started sleep training. She does pretty well for naps during the day and takes 2 to 3. She is waking up at 6 am or before and Mommy is tired. She is so different from Lily who slept through the night from pretty early on.

Eating She eats 6 ounce bottles every 4 hours or so. She loves to eat what we are. Even with just two little teeth she can eat like the best of them. She scarfs down whatever we put in front of her. She is not a fan of pureed baby food. 

Movement Avery is on the go all the time! She can crawl like a champ and pull up on just about anything. She has stood unassisted a few times and I think she could take off and try to walk any day now.

Milestones slept through the night once this month. I really wish she would start doing it consistently. 

Favorite toys/activities Anything that she can put in her mouth and chew on. She likes the activity table. Loves being outside and taking walks. Loves bath time.

Dislikes Sleeping, having her diaper or clothes changed. 

Words & sounds Lots of funny noises. She shrieks and makes funny sounds and purses her lips out. Can make the m sound and d sound but hasn't said anything intentional yet.

What we love Everything about her. She is such a sweet girl and doesn't fuss unless she is tired or hungry.

It's Okay Tuesday

It's Okay:

• That the state of the cleanliness of my house has not changed since last week's It's Okay

• To drink Hot Chocolate everyday!

• Wish my kids would take more naps, play independently so I can get stuff done.

• To have absolutely no idea (and be sorta terrified) how to get rid of Lily's Binky.  Any tips?

• To want to put my almost 9 month old in baby cage so she can't crawl, stand, stage dive and hurt herself
