Since I missed the last couple Insta Fridays, you get to see all my cell pictures in one post! You can follow along with my instagram @jennypowellfell.
Have I mentioned before that I love having the opportunity to capture moments in a split second? Well I do. It is so great to have that memory/moment at your fingertips.
We have really been enjoying summer. Trying to get out of the house and see and do things We checked out a new coffee shop and I caught this pic of Lily playing on the front walkway through the porch railings. It's in an old restored house.
Just spending some quality time with my girl. I don't even remember what we were doing this day, but I'm glad I captured the rare pictures of just me and Lily.
Entertaining kids when you are eating out is super hard. We try to stick to places that are kid friendly. Some places even have playgrounds for the kids. This place did not but Lily entertained herself with the toys we brought from home. I'm not sure if the little people were eating or if we were eating the little people.
I really don't understand the fascination with pulling out/opening up every cabinet door and pretending like its a fort but it relatively non messy and entertaining so we just go with it.
This girl is sorta into my shoes. She will randomly go in and put a pair on. This pic doesn't show it but she also is really only into wearing dresses. I think it is super cute, but she wants to pick the fanciest dress she owns just to hang out around the house.
Side pony for the win. This girls hair is awesome. I am super jealous, cause she didn't get it from me. She has a natural side part that is just perfection.
We have been doing a lot of swimming as well. Now that Lily can touch in the shallow end she has become so confident and has been swimming without her "swimmy". It's pretty amazing to watch her bob up and down.
The things I do to entertain these girls. This was actually Daddy's game first. The plastic bin is sitting inside our wagon and they insisted to go for a ride. Then I looked down and saw the sticker on the lid. Oops. I think it's kinda crazy they have to have that warning anyway.
This child. She has so much spirit. Even though her 3/4 year old behavior makes me crazy sometimes.
Ave as the second child gets a ton of Lily's hand me downs. I am super grateful for this but sometimes you just need your own new pair of kicks. Right? These were on Zulily a while back. Love them and her to pieces.
Lily made this masterpiece in the tub a couple days ago. I thought it was her but no it's supposed to be me. Looks about right!
So Avery has decided she wants to try to potty train. Truthfully I'm not really ready. Potty training is hard and I'm not mentally prepared. She has used the potty quite a few time and has had quite a few accidents. I guess we are just going to see how it goes. I would love to be done with diapers for a while.
I'm not even sure where this rock came from. It just showed up in the house one day. Do your kids bring things in the house that don't belong? I feel like I'm always finding something. Anyway, we needed a nap time activity and painting the rock is what we did. Best thing about it, it was a gift for Nana!
We got to have a date night and headed to Charleston for the Blues, Brews and BBQ festival. We had some yummy brews and food with friends before it started raining. It was nice to have some adult time!
Watch out! Here they come. This is trouble right here.
Lily turns 4 in less than a week. The 18th! Her party is the following weekend. She chose a Rapunzel theme and I really need to start working on some of my ideas. Since she is lucky enough to have a summer birthday she gets to have a pool party. Fun huh.
Whenever it rains, which has been nearly everyday. The girls think they need to get cozy on the front porch.
I remember sitting out on my front porch as a kid when we had storms too.
Nathan and his parents took the girls to see Despicable Me 2 a couple days ago. This was Ave's first movie in the theater! She just hasn't shown that she can sit through a full length movie ever so we haven't taken her. I had Mommy guilt that she was being left out so we decided to give it a try. I wasn't there, but Nathan said she didn't do that great. Just restless and up and down the whole time. We may wait a bit to try again with her. She did like the popcorn though!
Avery is really into being independent and has a "I do it myself" mentality. So this is what I found when I went looking for her one day. She decided to help herself to some chips. She would have been fine if she had a bigger bowl.
We have had a bird invader. I say invader because I knocked this nest down and it came back and built another full nest overnight. I felt bad messing up its home but I don't think we can have a bird living above where we hangout and eat dinner.
This dog of mine. I love her bunches. She is a funny character. We always say that our extended family has the weirdest dogs. They all seem to have some sort of issues. But we love em' anyway. Dixie is really easy going and so good with the girls. She climbed right up in this chair and sat by me while I watched the girls play in their small pool.
This was her first real time actually playing with the play doh. She asked for it and played by herself for a little bit. Growing up to fast I say.
This is what Lil was doing while Ave played with playdoh. I love afternoon movies with popcorn!
And one more from last night. Rocking the side pony and her shades swinging like a big girl. I think I'm in denial.
Okay so that was super long and if you made it through then you are awesome!
That is an interesting fort idea. I better not show it to my kids.....
