Ornament Swap

In November, I signed up for an Ornament Swap through a couple of the other blogs I read. I was paired up with Laura at The Luckiest in Love. She was one of the hosts, so that was pretty cool. This was my first swap in blog-land and Laura made it easy to figure everything out.

I stalked Laura's blog to figure out what kind of things she like and even went back and found her Christmas posts from last year to check out her tree. I found some cute stuff for her and I really hope she liked it!

Laura's package that she sent me was super cute. It came with three very pretty ornaments, cute Christmas hair bows for the girls, and tree cookie cutter and some yummy candy. I loved everything. She also tucked in a sweet little note.

Nathan was impressed with the Fell Family ornament and the girls loved the candy!

I can't wait to see the girls wear these cute bows and I have been wanting to make some cookies with the girls so the cookie cutter is perfect.

And a couple of the girls hanging the ornaments on the tree.

I really enjoyed this experience and getting to know new bloggers!

Embrace the Camera

Embracing the camera today with these sweet girls in their Christmas finest. We went to see Santa! (post and picture coming soon)

These girls are growing too fast! I just got done looking at old pictures and they have changed so much. It is hard to believe that they are turning into little people.

In other news, I have been blogging for more than a year now. Doesn't seem like it's been that long. I'm glad I have our memories documented.

Random Wednesday

- I haven't wrapped a thing. I really need to get on this. I'm so lazy in the evenings though.

- This happened: Someone thinks they can do everything like big sister. I thought I would let her try, but she gave herself a bath instead.

This is after I took it away and she rubbed yogurt in her hair.

- I am so loving the warm weather we have had the past couple of days.

- Have you guys heard of Influenster? It's a pretty cool site that allows you to write reviews/test products and earn free stuff. I just got my first vox box with stuff to test. I have a couple invites left is anyone wants one.

- So I have this Christmas gem to share:

circa 1992 ish. Nathan said it looked like we were dressed in table cloths. I think we look pretty snazzy. I'm in the green.

Decking the Halls

We put up the tree on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. After we got back from visiting family. Lily was super excited. This was really the first year she was into putting the ornaments on the tree.
She kept saying "Santa is going to love this. It is so beautiful" . It totally cracked me up.

Most of the ornaments ended up on the bottom half and in one little area. Avery mostly just carried around ornaments and didn't get very many on the tree. She is pretty much leaving it alone too. Which is amazing.

I also made the girls an Advent countdown with a bag for each day until Christmas. They have little toys and candy.  As you can see Lily was super excited. So far we have talked about Jesus' birthday and she sorta gets it. Anyone have any good kid book recommendations on the religious story of Christmas?

Nothing like chocolate at 7 am!

Recipe ~ Sausage Balls

This weekend, we went to the last Mountaineer football game of the season. I love tailgating before the games, the food, fun, drinks and atmosphere is pretty amazing. One of my tailgating staples are these sausage balls. They are also perfect to make for a holiday party or potluck.

What You Need:

- 1 Pound of Sausage (I use turkey sausage)

- 3 Cups Bisquick

- 4 Cups Shredded Sharp Cheddar

-1/8 Tbl. Pepper

Mix all ingredients by hand in a large bowl. I use my Kitchenaid Mixer and it works great as well. You need to mix until everything starts sticking together. Form into 1 1/2 inch balls. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.
You can make these ahead of time and refrigerate. Serve at room temperature.

I used to make these with my Dad who would be turning 67 today. I love and miss you so much!
