Grandma's Banana Bread

So I have a confession.......

I don't like bananas. I know, you think I'm crazy. I have just never liked them. The flavor and texture are icky to me. But, everyone in my family likes them so we seem to always have them laying around. Sometimes they lay around a little too long. I needed to start doing something with the overly ripe ones and I thought of my Grandma.

She was always cooking or baking something. I like to think that my love of cooking and crafting came from her. She would always have something ready for you to take home if you came for dinner or if you just wanted to run over and pick it up for later. One of those things was this banana bread.

I made this the other day and took it to my Mom who is still recovering from wrist surgery.

This is written in Grandma's hand writing, but it was her Mother's recipe. (Lucy Dixon)
I do everything the same but I did sub butter for shortening. I have added chocolate chips instead of nuts  before too.

Hope you enjoy.
